ANZAC Day

2016 ANZAC Day - 25th April

This year it occurred within the school holidays.  We had a special service on the Tuesday of Week 11.

Did you know?
 * that this was the 100th year of acknowledging ANZAC Day
 * Over 16,000 NZ soldiers were killed during WW1
  * Over 11,000 died in WW2

It was an opportunity for us all to sit and listen and show our respect during our special service.

What did you do to acknowledge ANZAC day in 2016?

  10. I was in Rotorua and made a special poppy for the memorial garden - it looked beautiful scattered with red poppies throughout it. I also was offered an ANZAC biscuit to chew on. The memorial park has a collection of sculptures each depicting an aspect of war.
