End of Week 7

I Congratulations to our Stars of the Week!

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Zion who has shifted and will be going to Elstow-Waihou School.  He has grown up with many in the class and will be missed.  However, we do know that we may get the chance to catch up at sports events.  

This week we had a visit from the ERO team throughout the school.  We are so proud of who we are and what we are doing here at Stanley Avenue.  The children who were spoken to by members of the team showed confidence and were able to discuss their learning.  Way to go!

We ended the week by having our say with our Kids vote for the flag - the middle school's results get sent through to the Electoral Commission.  Even they they don't count towards the official referendum the results will be published how the children of New Zealand have voted.
Over 700 schools are taking part - over 140,000 students - Wow!  I wonder what the results will be...

Tuesday and Wednesday this coming week.

Then the lead up to Easter- Do remember that schools are closed on the Tuesday following Easter Monday.  That gives everyone a lovely five day break.

This is the remainder of the class measuring the room to create a map of the class.  We had fun exploring a range of measuring tools from string, rulers, tape measures.  We had to make sure we started at zero.  A tape measure gave us the most accurate measurement compared to the metre ruler or using a pile of class 30cm rulers.  Our map/plan will help us to position and measure the size of our furniture that we liked from Mike's Woodshop.
